Almería Western Film Festival (AWFF) 2015 is going to celebrate the 800 Tapas contest, a gastronomic meeting in which all bars and restaurants from Tabernas will participate. In this event will compete diferent "Tapas" dishes from bars and restaurants which are going to be named by films titles which have been recorded in Almería.

Bars and restaurants which are involved in this tapas Western contest will be provided with a letterbox in which every customer, if he wishes, will be able to send opinions about the tapa he has eaten. A popular jury will issue a verdict bearing in mind the opinion of people and the result will be announced in October 12th. In this date, three awards will be provided in order to acknowledge the first, second and third position of the tapas contest.

Moreover, the “Buen Tapeador” (good eater of tapas) Award will be drawn in public between all consumers of tapas.

Awards:
To the three best tapas:
1st Position – commemorative plaque + batch of products of La Gergaleña.
2nd Position – commemorative plaque + batch of products of La Gergaleña.
3rd Position commemorative plaque + batch of products of La Gergaleña.

“BUEN TAPEADOR” AWARD: Sponsorship by Cruzcampo.
Commemorative plaque + batch of product of la Gergaleña + winner´s weight in beer.

The winner of this award will be announced and decided by the drawing of lots on the same day.

JURY "800 TAPAS"

Fort-Bravo and Oasys Mini Hollywood will open to realize thematic and special activities of the Festival.
On Saturday 10th October, the entrance will be free after 16:00 hours in Fort-Bravo and on Saturday 11th October in Oasys Mini Hollywood See programme .
Wearing Western Clothes or items to the party is compulsory.

AWFF will provide a free buses service from Tabernas to settlements and from settlements to Tabernas.See Timetable.

Saturday 10/10/2015 Fort Bravo special day.
This year, AWFF will pay tribute to the emblematic actor Sancho Gracia owing to his professional background and what he has given to the cinema industry in Almeria. He performanced the veteran stuntman “Julián”, who reflects old times of the Western cinema in Almeria.

16:00 hours – Country music on live will be carried out into the settlement.

SUNDAY 11/10/2015 Especial Oasys Mini Hollywood
This year is the For a Few Dollars More 50th Anniversary, therefore it would be a considerable mistake not to remember it. The importance of this film is owing to the fact that it was one of the first Western recording in Almeria and that is the reason because the Mini-Hollywood, beforehand named the settlement of Frayle, was built.

We will have the high honour of being accompanied by some of the people who worked in the film, such as Julio Sempere (who was film-maker assistant), Antonio Ruíz Escaño (dubbed Niño Leone), and some of the workers who built the settlement.

16:15 h – Happy birthday "Poblado del fraile". There will be a big pie involving the event “Mr. Eastwood, vuelva a Tabernas ¡”.

Almería Western Film Festivals presents other kind of activities in which music plays a key role. This year, visitants will be able to engage in a party focuses on the Western Tabernas style. Futhermore we will count on a rock country special concert.

From 24,00 h.– WESTERN PARTY in Pub Levy de Tabernas
Pub levy will change for a night in concordance with the Wild West. Do not lost it¡. We encourage you to come with a cowboy fancy dress. Party will start at 24:00 hours and the entrance will be free.

SÁBADO 10/10/2015
From 20,00 h in Tabernas Village– Great Western Night.
Music and activities. Do not lost this big party which will provide donkeys for children, a mechanic bull, a photocall, children fancy dress and painting and horses carriages which let people get on in several points of the way.

Enjoy the music and do not forget to taste the tapas of the contest 800 Tapas, by visiting bars and restaurants which are enrolled in this event.



From 23,00H – Village Bantastic Fand Concert.
The best way to finish Gran Noche Western, is to attend this rock country concert.

During the concert of Bantastic Fand you can buy and taste the beer Far West, "Truly Western Beer" and know the commemorative label for Almeria Western Film Festival 2015

SUNDAY 11/10/2015
From 21:15 h.– Bandas Sonoras Western.
Concert performanced by Agrupación Musical San Indalecio. This event is the last activity of the Gala de Clausura of AWFF 2015.

The town of Tabernas will realized a photographic show from 29th September to 18th September, which has been titled “Almería, Tierra de Cine”. This show will let people visit and see al pictures which were selected for the international contest of photography involving the XIII Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes Almería en Corto. (Short Films International Festival).

It will take place at the Escuela de Cine de Tabernas, where 30 landscape pictures of Almería will be showed. These pictures were and are used as a place to record films, television series, publicity, and video clips.

Érase una vez en Almería: Decorados, restos, y paisajes del cine. Photographic Exhibition of the artist Mark Parascandola in the multipurpose room of Tabernas.

During the days of the festival, from Friday 9 th to sunday 11 th, from 17.00H to 13,00H and from 11.00h to 20.00h.

The Almería Western Film Festival (AWFF) 2015 team, will organize a fancy dress contest to reward the best clothes of Western. The contest will take place after 20:00 hours in the central square of Tabernas, the 10th of October.

If you wish to participate in this contest, you should fill in the attached document and send us to info@almeriawesternfilmfestival.es or if you prefer, you can also bring it to the Town Hall of Tabernas (open from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 hours to 11:00 hours) – AWFF office, in the first floor. Reception will start the 20th September and deadline, the 7th of October.

All men and women are encouraged to participate in this event, it does not matter the nationality; and children with are older than 5 years of age if they had parents’ permission. Adults will be assessed individually but children are able to do in a couple if they want.

The City Council of Tabernas, as one of the organizers of the AWFF, will award the first and the second best fancy dress by differencing between men, women and children. This will take place during the closing ceremony of the Festival, which will be celebrated the 11th October at the municipal theatre.

AWFF 2015 proposes an amount of activities for children and teenagers with the purpose of encourage participation in the Festival.

I CONCURSO INFANTIL Y JUVENIL DE DIBUJO Y RELATO CORTO

FINALIZA EL PLAZO DE ENTREGA 01/10/2015. Almería Western Film Festival organiza este concurso de dibujo y relato corto con la intención de que los alumnos y alumnas de los diferentes centros de enseñanza de la comarca Filabres- Alhamilla se hagan eco de la existencia de nuestro festival, del potencial que tiene nuestra tierra como gran decorado cinematográfico y sobre todo de nuestra historia del cine.

El concurso está dirigido a niños y niñas que cursen Educación Primaria y a jóvenes que cursen Educación Secundaria durante el curso 2015-16. Se establecen las siguientes categorías:
Concurso infantil de Dibujo y Relato Corto: alumnos y alumnas de Educación Primaria.
Concurso juvenil de Dibujo y Relato Corto: alumnos y alumnas de Educación Secundaria.

El día 7 de octubre se dará a conocer el fallo del jurado en la página web del Almería Western Film Festival. Y el 11 de octubre se celebrará la entrega de premios a las 12 y media en el antiguo centro CADE de Tabernas donde se proyectará una película de animación y se podrá ver una selección de los trabajos finalistas.
