The ALMERIA WESTERN FILM FESTIVAL 2014 (AWFF), organized by the Town Council of Tabernas, has the main objective to promote the dissemination of western genre films that contribute to the knowledge of world cinema.

The 4th edition of the Almeria Western Film Festival will be held between the 10th al 12th of Octuber 2014. The Festival office address is:

The festival includes of the following sections:

a) WESTERN 2014 offering a panorama of current films of the Western genre. The feature length films as well as short films in this section might be presented in competition or out of competition.

b) RETROSPECTIVE, a selection of feature films that were filmed in Almeria in the times of the Spaghetti Western.

c) VIDEOS, such as documentaries, experimental or music related to the Western

d) COMMERCIALS and VIDEOCLIPS, a compilation of commercials and music videos, shot in Almeria known as 'Land of Cinema/ Tierra de Cine'.

All films entered for the WESTERN 2014 competition must comply with the following conditions:

-Completed in 2013 or 2014.
-Films participating in the section WESTERN 2014 can be DCP, or standard HDCAM Full formats
-Films will be screened in their original language version with Spanish or English subtitles. In the second case, a transcript of the subtitles/dialogue list and a DVD of the film must be supplied in order to permit preparation of electronic subtitles in Spanish.

If your submission is successful, you will be informed by the Organizers through the Town Council of Tabernas.

The invitation sent for each film selected by the Festival must remain strictly confidential between the Festival management and the participant until the Festival makes an official announcement to this regard.

An International Jury will decide the winners of the following awards from those feature-lengths and shorts selected for participation in the Competition of WESTERN 2014:

-‘Almería Western Film Festival 2014’, for best film
-'Audience Award AWFF 2014'
The Festival will also give an honorary award ‘Tabernas 2014’ for a lifetime achievement.

The Almeria Western Film Festival does not charge entry fees and films should be submitted as follows:

-Films being submitted for preview by the Selection Committee have to be in our offices by September 1, 2014: For preview purposes, films can be sent via a secure link to
programacion@almeriawesternfilmfestival.es or with a screener on DVD in Spanish or English. Films confirmed to participate, need to supply directly all materials and transcript or subtitle list.

-Promotional material for each film must reach the Festival before October 1, 2014. This material should be sent in digital format and include a press book, high-resolution photographs audio and video clips/trailer 3 minutes, if existing. The media distribution will be provided through the official Festival website www.almeriawesternfilmfestival.es press area. We would also like to receive posters to the office address of the event.

The Almeria Western Film Festival establishes the order and date of each film exhibition. Once approved the participation of a movie, it cannot be removed from its projection during the Festival. Participation implies full acceptance of these Regulations
