The town hall of Tabernas, promoter and organizer of the Almería Western Film Festival (AWFF), has organized a WESTERN CHARACTER CONTEST to celebrate the 5th annual AWFF. The contest will be held on the 10th of October, 2015 from 12:30 to 13:30, at the Tabernas town square. During the event, the judges will assess each participant’s characterization, and the prizes shall be handed out during the AWFF closing ceremony on the 11th of October 2015, at the Tabernas municipal theatre.

The contest includes 3 categories: man, woman and child, with 1st and 2nd prizes for each.

The judges’ scores will be based on the costumes’ preparation, attention to detail, the characterization, and presentation.

Men and women over 18, of any nationality, may participate, without an age limit. Children over the age of 5 may participate (accompanied by an adult during the registration and the act – not during the parade).For adults, participation is individual, and children may participate in a group of maximum two.

Sign-up dates: from the 20th of September until the 7th of October, 2015.

The Festival Organization reserves the right to limit the inscriptions until the number of participants for the parade has been completed. In any case, inscriptions will be kept in order of entry, which will be confirmed to the participant (we request that an e-mail address be included in the application).
The judges shall be a group of three people, assigned by the town hall and the AWFF commission, with knowledge of characterization and dressmaking.

Once the inscription dates are closed, the order of presentation in the parade shall be communicated to the participants.
